01

Why Indian learners are choosing live online classes

Most people who search "guitar classes near me" in India don't actually want a particular studio. They want a teacher they can reach without losing an evening to traffic. That's the gap online classes fill.

The lesson itself stays the same: a teacher watching your hands, correcting your thumb, playing the next bar for you to copy. Only the commute disappears. Our students include school children whose evenings are full of tuitions, and adults who finish work at eight and still want to play.

The teaching comes from Arya Sen, who has played for 12+ years and taught for 8+. Jam and Play has taught more than 1,000 students in 40+ countries, which means a student in Pune gets the same structure as one in Perth.

02

If you live in Udaipur

Udaipur is our home city, and we also offer teacher-at-home lessons for families within 5 km of our Udaipur base. Younger children often learn faster with a teacher in the room. Details and the current fee process are on the Udaipur home tuition page. Outside that radius, the same teacher teaches you live online.

03

How a lesson works

You book a free demo, and we send a Zoom or Google Meet link. In the demo, the teacher asks what you want to play and what you've tried. You play a first chord in the same call.

After that, a normal week looks like this: one 45-minute live lesson, a short practice plan, and 15 to 20 minutes of practice a day. The next lesson starts by checking that plan.

If you've never learned online, read how online guitar lessons work. It covers camera placement, sound and what to have ready.

04

Fees in rupees

Pay by UPI or Razorpay, which most Indian students find simplest. There is no lock-in. A shared lesson for two students costs ₹3,200 for four lessons; see online group guitar classes. For the full plan list, see private online guitar lessons.

Timings in India

India has one time zone, so there's no conversion to worry about. We teach from 9 am to 10 pm IST every day, including weekends. School children usually pick 4 to 7 pm or a weekend morning. Working adults pick 8 to 10 pm. If your preferred hour is already taken, we'll offer the nearest one.

07

Songs, styles and language

Students choose what they want to play. Hindi film songs are the most requested starting point, and our Bollywood guitar lessons put the song first. Others begin with acoustic pop or rock.

Lessons run in Hindi or English, and you choose at the demo. Chord names are the same in every language, so a student who is more comfortable in Tamil, Telugu or Marathi can follow along once they know a few terms.

08

Exams: Trinity and Rockschool

Indian schools and music institutes often enter students for Trinity or Rockschool grades. We teach the syllabi and prepare students to sit them. We're not an exam centre. You'd register with a Trinity or Rockschool centre near you. See exam preparation.

09

Kids and parents

The minimum age is 8. Younger children usually can't press the strings firmly, which makes the first month discouraging. Parents are welcome to sit in on the first lessons. See online guitar lessons for kids for what to expect.

10

Why you can trust what we say here

We publish our prices, so what you see here is what you pay. The demo is free and carries no obligation. We tell you when a student isn't ready for something, for example when a child is too young. You can read about the teacher on the founder page, see student results, or call +91 78779 25128 between 9 am and 10 pm. Prices and timings on this page were checked in October 2026.
