Online Guitar Classes in Australia: Evenings Work Here

Jam and Play offers online guitar classes in Australia through live, one-to-one video lessons. Australia is ahead of India, so our morning is your afternoon and our afternoon is your evening. That makes after-school and after-work lessons easy to book. Each lesson is 45 minutes on Zoom or Google Meet. Four lessons cost ₹3,999, and the first 30-minute demo is free.

01

Why Australia is one of the easiest places for us to teach

Students in the US and Europe usually give up their mornings. Australian students don't. We teach from 9 am to 10 pm India time, and that lands in the middle of your afternoon and evening.

Sydney and Melbourne clocks went forward on 4 October, and they go back in April. Brisbane and Perth don't change. The practical result: a 4 pm lesson after school in Sydney is 10:30 am in India, and a 7 pm lesson is 1:30 pm. Both are well inside our hours.

The only slots that don't exist are Australian mornings before 2:30 pm during daylight time or 1:30 pm during standard time. If you want a 7 am lesson before work, a local teacher will serve you better.

Time conversions are shown for standard and daylight-saving time where applicable, using 2026 time-zone rules. A window that crosses midnight spans two calendar days. These are teaching hours, not a list of available 45-minute appointments; confirm your city, date and lesson time before booking.

02

Who this suits

It suits school children who finish at 3 pm and want a lesson at 4 or 5. It suits adults who work nine to five and want a lesson at 6 or 7 pm. And it suits families who'd like a Hindi-speaking teacher for songs they grew up with, alongside Australian pop and rock.

It suits fewer people whose grade syllabus is AMEB. We teach Trinity and Rockschool, not AMEB. If your child's school or teacher requires AMEB, we aren't the right fit for the exam work, though we can still teach the playing.

03

Weeknight in Melbourne, Saturday in Perth

A typical Melbourne student books Tuesday or Thursday at 6:30 pm, which is 1 pm in India. A typical Perth student books Saturday morning at 11:30 am or a weekday at 5 pm. Brisbane families often pick Sunday afternoons. If your week changes with swimming, footy or music at school, tell us when you book, and we'll move the slot when term timetables change.

04

How the lesson works

You join a link. The teacher watches both hands through your camera and corrects as you play. Afterwards you get a short practice plan, usually 15 to 20 minutes a day. If you've never learned online, how online guitar lessons work covers camera angle and sound.

Beginners learn two open chords in lesson one. Returning players get a posture and timing check, since old habits are the usual blocker.

05

Fees and paying from Australia

Prices are in Indian rupees.

Australian students usually pay by PayPal or Wise, which convert from Australian dollars at the day's rate. We don't add a surcharge for overseas payments, and there's no lock-in. Full plan details are on private online guitar lessons.

06

Learning with a sibling or friend

Two students can share a lesson for ₹3,200 for four lessons, which suits siblings who play at the same level. See online group guitar classes.

07

Songs and goals

Most Australian students come with a song in mind. For Hindi film songs, see Bollywood guitar lessons. Others want acoustic pop, or a piece for a school talent show.

08

Children in Australia

The minimum age is 8. A parent should sit nearby for the first lessons. After-school slots between 4 and 6 pm are the most popular, so book early in term. See online guitar lessons for kids.

09

Exams: what we cover and what we don't

We prepare students for Trinity and Rockschool guitar grades. We're not an exam centre. We do not teach AMEB. See exam preparation.
