01

A city that already takes music seriously

Chennai has one of the deepest music cultures in India. Many families already have a child learning Carnatic vocal, violin or veena, and every December the city fills with concerts. In a house like that, guitar is often the second instrument, the one a teenager picks for themselves.

That shapes how we teach it here. A student who reads Indian notation or knows ragas already has a trained ear. We build on that and add chords, rhythm and the physical habits of guitar. These students tend to hear a wrong note faster than they can fix it, which is a good problem to have.

02

Fitting guitar around a full week

Chennai students usually have packed weekdays: school, tuition and a first instrument. A guitar class across town adds an hour of travel to a day that's already full. Whether you're in Adyar, T. Nagar, Anna Nagar or on OMR, getting to a studio can take longer than the lesson.

A live online lesson from home removes that hour. We teach from 9 am to 10 pm every day, so you can place the lesson after other commitments rather than squeezing it between them. The weather helps the argument too. In the hottest months, or when the monsoon makes roads difficult, a lesson at home carries on.

03

For a child who already plays an instrument

If your child plays violin, keyboard or sings, tell us at the demo. Those skills carry over more than parents expect. A child who has learned to keep a steady beat on a mridangam, or to match pitch, starts guitar with an advantage.

We often begin with a song the child already knows and show how it sits on the guitar. That makes the first lesson feel like a continuation and not a restart. Children can start at 8. See online guitar lessons for kids for what the first month looks like.

A practical point: keep guitar practice to 15 or 20 minutes a day, so it doesn't crowd the first instrument. Two instruments work well together when neither is rushed.

04

For adults

Adults in Chennai often return to guitar after a break of ten or fifteen years. Maybe you played in college and then work took over. The first lesson checks what your hands remember, then we build a plan that fits an evening after work.

If you've never played, that's fine too. You'll learn two open chords in lesson one, and most adults can play a simple song by the end of the first month. See private online guitar lessons for pacing.

05

What you can learn

Students choose what they want to play. Hindi and English songs are the most common requests, from film music to acoustic pop. If Hindi songs are your goal, read about Bollywood guitar lessons online.

Some students go on to fingerstyle, others to grade exams. We teach the Trinity and Rockschool syllabi and prepare you for the exam, though we're not an exam centre. See exam preparation.

06

Languages

Lessons run in Hindi or English, and you choose at the demo. Chord names are the same everywhere, so students who are more comfortable in Tamil can follow along without trouble. If language worries you, mention it at the demo and the teacher will adjust.

07

Siblings or friends can share a lesson. A pack of four shared lessons costs ₹3,200, against ₹3,999 for a private pack. See online group guitar classes. Payments work by UPI, Razorpay, PayPal, Wise or Remitly, and there's no lock-in.

09

How the first step works

Book a free 30-minute demo. You join by Zoom or Google Meet, play a first chord, and decide afterwards. The teacher asks what you want to play and what you've tried, then gives you a short plan.

If you've never learned online, how online guitar lessons work explains every step, including where to put the camera so the teacher can see both hands.

10

What you need

A guitar, a phone or laptop with a camera, and a chair without arms. Don't buy a guitar before the demo. The teacher will advise you on size and type, and that helps avoid the common mistake of buying one that's too large for a child.
