Online Guitar Classes in Canada: Toronto, Vancouver and Beyond

Jam and Play offers online guitar classes in Canada through live, one-to-one video lessons. Our teacher is in India, so Canadian lessons run in the morning and at weekends. Each lesson is 45 minutes on Zoom or Google Meet. Four lessons cost ₹3,999, and the first 30-minute demo is free with no lock-in. We teach learners in the Greater Toronto Area, Vancouver and elsewhere.

Canada spans six time zones. Ours doesn't.

Canada is wide, and the time difference with India is large wherever you live. We teach from 9 am to 10 pm IST. Here is what that means in the two places most Canadian students ask about.

For Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton, the realistic slots are weekday mornings before work or school, say 6 to 8 am, and weekend mornings. For Vancouver, there's more room: early mornings, and early evenings around 8:30 pm in summer or 7:30 pm in winter.

What doesn't fit is a typical 4 to 7 pm after-school hour anywhere in Canada. If that's the only slot your family has, we'll tell you at the demo.

Time conversions are shown for standard and daylight-saving time where applicable, using 2026 time-zone rules. A window that crosses midnight spans two calendar days. These are teaching hours, not a list of available 45-minute appointments; confirm your city, date and lesson time before booking.

Greater Toronto: a busy morning, a quiet slot

In Mississauga, Brampton and Scarborough, mornings are busy with commutes and school runs. A 6:30 am lesson sounds tough, but many adults find it's the one hour that nobody else claims. Children usually do better on Saturday mornings, around 9 to 11 am, when the Indian evening is just starting.

If your child has a weekend activity already, say so when you book. We'll look for a slot that doesn't collide.

03

Vancouver and the West Coast

Vancouver has the easiest fit in Canada. A lesson at 7:30 pm in winter or 8:30 pm in summer is a normal weeknight, and that's morning in India. Surrey, Richmond, Burnaby and the Fraser Valley all work the same way.

04

A lesson, step by step

You join by link. The teacher watches both hands through your camera and corrects as you go. After each lesson, you get a short practice plan of 15 to 20 minutes a day.

If you haven't taken an online lesson before, how online guitar lessons work explains the camera and sound setup. Beginners learn two open chords in lesson one. Returning players get a quick posture and timing check.

05

Fees for Canadian students

Prices are in Indian rupees.

Canadian students usually pay by PayPal or Wise, which convert to Canadian dollars at the day's rate. There's no surcharge for overseas payments from our side, and no lock-in. For plan details, see private online guitar lessons.

06

Hindi songs, pop and everything else

The repertoire is yours. Many Canadian families ask for Bollywood guitar lessons, and others want acoustic pop or a particular song for a school concert. Siblings can share a lesson for ₹3,200 for four lessons; see online group guitar classes.

07

Children and parents

The minimum age is 8. For younger children the first lessons need a parent beside the screen to hold the camera steady and watch the posture. Weekend mornings are the easiest slot. See online guitar lessons for kids.

08

Exams from Canada

If your child is working toward Trinity or Rockschool grades, we teach the syllabus and prepare them for the exam. We're not an exam centre, and exam centres in Canada vary by province, so check the board's website for the nearest one. See exam preparation.
